“ROMance”

Do I believe monogamous relationships can work & last? Yes I do. I just dont believe humans were biologically created to go through life with only one sexual partner. We have to innerstand & grasp this truth very clearly. The legal term “marriage” didnt exist until the Roman Empire wanted to keep track of all families that occupied Rome, & the elites ordered their citizens to remain in monogamous relationships to make sure Rome was never over-populated.

So the elites were ordering YOU to stay monogamous, while the Roman elites were devout polygamists. Roman marriage was also used as a property-transfer arrangement between the couple & their families. Roman marriage & divorce was financially expensive for the citizens, which caused the Roman government to benefit financially. The Roman government needed its citizens to buy into monogamous marriages so badly, that Emperor Augustus implemented a “bachelor tax” in the year 9 CE.

So if you werent married in ancient Rome, you were taxed & viewed as “abnormal.” Before the Roman empire, monogamous relationships barely even existed. Ancient Egypt was originally under matriarchal rule, & the female pharaohs chose several men to have sexual relations & children with. During the patriarchal rule in Egypt, the male pharaohs indulged in polygamist relationships & had multiple wives. The whole idea of spending money on someone to show how much you “love” them, is the theology of Rome, hence the name (Rom)ance. When you sign your name on those marriage or divorce documents you’re literally signing your nature(life force) over to the government, hence the word (sig)nature. ~Unknown
