Asase Yaa (also called Asase Efue) is the Asante earth goddess, recognized as a source of truth. Her followers show her respect with a day of rest from tilling the soil on Thursdays. She is not a divinity with shrines and priestesses, though offerings are lefts on the ground in her honor. It is said that she is the wife of Nyame, the omniscient and omnipotent sky God.
